Fred Snow of Newton has earned the 2015 Jim McDonald Award for Outstanding Class “C” Waterworks Operator of the Year presented by the Mississippi Water and Pollution Control Operator’s Association. MWPCOA President Gerald Sweeting presented the award at the Association’s Annual Conference in Vicksburg, MS on July 14.
Snow has been employed by the City of Newton for more than twelve (12) years. When presented the award, Snow said, “I would like to thank Mayor Carr and the Board for their support. It’s really an honored to be nominated for this award and to be recognized by your peers. This award is very special and I thank the Operators’ Association for considering me and choosing me.”
The Jim McDonald Award is presented each year to a waterworks operator who exemplifies professionalism and dedication to his work. MWPCOA members submit nominations which are reviewed by Association’s Board of Governors. A final selection committee visits the operator’s facility and conducts an interview from which the final recipient is chosen.
