2010 Water Supply Operator Of The Year Perry Goodson
Perry Goodson of Calhoun City has earned the 2010 Jim McDonald Award for Outstanding Waterworks Operator of the Year presented by the Mississippi Water and Pollution Control Operator's Association. MWPCOA President Daniel Rayfield presented the award at the Association’s Annual Meeting in Bay St. Louis, MS on July 21.
Goodson has been employed by Calhoun City for more than 28 years and is the Municipals Works Director. When presented the award, Goodson said, "I would like to thank the Mayor and the Board for all their support. I could not do my job if not for their support. I’d like to thank my wife, Amanda and my daughters. They support me daily. I am honored to be recognized for this award. It means a great deal to me. Thank you to everyone."
The Jim McDonald Award is presented each year to a waterworks operator who exemplifies professionalism and dedication to his work. MWPCOA members submit nominations which are reviewed by Association's Board of Governors. A final selection committee visits the operator's facility and conducts an interview from which the final recipient is chosen.
