2016 HUGH K. HART MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO TYLER FORTENBERRY

Tyler Fortenberry of Crawford was awarded the 2016 Hugh K. Hart Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 by the Mississippi Water and Pollution Control Operators’ Association. David Bass presented Tyler with this award on July 15 at the Association’s 46th Annual Conference in Vicksburg. Tyler is the son of (Robert) Keith and Gayle Fortenberry of Crawford. Keith is a water and wastewater operator for the City of West Point Light and Water Department.

Tyler graduated from Starkville High School in May 2015, with a 3.5 GPA. He received numerous academic awards in high school, including State FFA Degree in 2015, National FFA Food Science Career Development Event in 2014, and 1st place in MS FFA Food Science Team in 2014.

He has been enrolled at East MS Community College since Fall 2014. He plans to transfer to Mississippi State University in January 2016, to pursue a degree in Agribusiness, and to own a cattle operation when he completes his education. Upon receiving the scholarship, Tyler said, “I feel very honored to be given this award. I would like to thank the MWPCOA.”
